Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Wire Cutters
Lighter
Total Cost: about $12.50 for 4
Total Cost: about $12.50 for 4
1. Pull the heads of the flowers off of their stems
2. Using the lighter, heat up the end
of the floral wire and push it through the little stem nubbin that
remains at the back of the flower.
3. Bend the wire in half so it lays
flat behind the flower like a stem and twist the two sides together.
You may need a dot of hot glue where the wire and flower meet to hold it
stationary, mine tended to flop around a bit.
4. place the pearl spray behind the
flower and position it where you like, wrap the wire stem of the spray
around the wire stem of the flower
5. Wrap both stems in floral tape from top to bottom.
6. Wrap the stem again in ribbon from
bottom to top making sure you cover the bottom, use hot glue to hold it
in place every once in awhile and at the top to finish it off.
7. To make the bow, I used a tutorial
on youtube from afloral on making corsage bows. Basically you take the
ribbon and keep doubling it back on it self until you've got 10-12 loops
(5-6 on either side). Once you've done that, secure the middle with a
thin piece of wire by twisting a couple of times, leaving some wire at
the end to use to afix it to the corsage.
8. Afix your bow to the corsage under
the flower by twisting the remaining wire around the corsage stem. If
needed you can trim any excess and I used a little spot of hot glue on
the end just for added security.
9. To attach to your VIPs, just use a
corsage pin stuck through the back of the stem. Mine had enough
material with the floral tape and ribbon that it slipped right through.
